Female Rockers logoWhat makes a musician stand out from others?

To me, what makes a musician stand out is how well of a player they are but also how fluid they are while playing. When there is that fluidity while playing, I believe that the audience is able to feel the music even more.

Female Rockers logoWhat are your dreams in your musical career?

I would absolutely LOVE to go on tour with my band Plush and play gigs all over. Playing gigs has always been one of my favorite parts of being a musician and I’m really excited for live shows to come back!

Female Rockers logoWhat would your top 3 tips be to succeed as a musician?

Obviously, my first tip has to be to practice, and along with that my second tip is to always come prepared to any rehearsals, auditions, and recording sessions. Lastly, my third tip is to always believe in yourself!

Female Rockers logoDo you have a daily regimen in music learning? (Feel free to use technical terms and go into details. Our readers would appreciate learning about a good and practical regimen.)

When I sit down to practice, I always start with a warm up. Whether that be some rudiments or I also love just turning on a metronome and just jamming to that and seeing what I can come up with. Then I will run through any songs that I’m working on.

Female Rockers logoWhat's art and music and why should it matter?

Art and music is a form of expression. It gives the artist a way to show how they feel and hopefully the audience can connect with it on some level.

Female Rockers logoHow has your musical taste changed over the years?

Over the years my music taste has definitely expanded. I used to listen to rock and metal only, but I’ve come to love and appreciate other genres like jazz, R&B, and even classical music.

Female Rockers logoHow long have you been involved with music?

I’ve been playing drums since I was 6 years old, so I’ve been playing for 11 years now!

Female Rockers logoDo you play for any bands? Who? Did you join/form them?

I do! I just recently announced my band Plush and we just released our first single “Hate”!

Female Rockers logoHave you composed any songs/albums?

I have never fully composed a song, but I do write all of the drums for my band's music.

Female Rockers logoTell us about your favorite musicians/bands

Some of my favorite bands include Tool, Godsmack, Led Zeppelin, Sevendust, Blondie, and Snarky Puppy.

Female Rockers logoHow do you get inspired to make music?

I get inspired to make music by watching other musicians and listening to some of my favorite artists and bands.

Female Rockers logoWhere do you think rock n’ roll is today and where is it going?

I’ve seen people say that they believe that rock is dead, but I don’t believe that at all. Much of the mainstream music is pop so that’s what people are listening to more. There are so many people that still love and enjoy rock ‘n’ roll, so I don’t believe that it will ever go away or be “dead”.

Female Rockers logoWhat do you think of pop music? Would you consider some of today's music in the rock charts as pop?

I don’t mind pop music. It’s not necessarily my go to when I’m listening to music, but I can get into some of it. Some of the music in the rock charts I would consider to be more alternative opposed to pop.

Female Rockers logoDo you ever receive sexist comments in your social media? If so, how do you treat them?

I do occasionally receive some sexist comments. I don’t get as many as when I first started posting videos though. I just ignore them. They have never bothered or affected me.

Female Rockers logoWhen and where were you born and raised?

I was born and raised in New York!

Female Rockers logoWhat are some of your hobbies?

I really love being active and being outside! Going to the beach, going on hikes, and snowboarding along with cooking and baking are some of my favorite things to do!
